In the context of its management services to large-scale farming operations in Europe, Soil Capital is looking for an experienced on-farm professional with strong experience in large-scale organic farming practices and an outstanding managerial track-record.

Candidate Profile

BSc or Msc in agriculture
Fluent in English (Romanian is a +)
Minimum 5 years experience in farm management
Proven expertise in large scale organic farming practices
Interest and experience in sustainable or regenerative agriculture
Excellent knowledge of farming operations (cropping practices, seasons, diseases, weed control, mechanisation, storage, etc…)
Good knowledge of farm machinery and mechanics, especially in the fiels of mechanised organic agriculture
Relevant skills in operational management:
- Crop planning and monitoring
- Staff training & workforce oversight
- Planting, spraying, harvesting monitoring
- Climate and field surveillance
- Supply management (inputs, fuel, spare parts)
- Detailed reporting

Candidate should be attracted to large-scale farming experience in Eastern Europe. He should demonstrate appetite for challenging responsibilities in ambitious projects, and adaptability to rough conditions in remote and foreign areas.

After an induction and briefing phase with the management team in Belgium, the farm manager will be dispatched on site for the supervision of the farming operations. The farm manager will be in contact on a daily basis with the head office in Belgium and will receive regular support and training from senior experts.

Typical assignments are expected to last 1 to 2 years, on location, with regular leave periods.
