Researcher

Located in the greenest and the second largest French University campus, 30 km south-west of Paris, the Ecologie, Systematique, Evolution laboratory (www.ese.u-psud.fr) is looking for candidates for a Research permanent position, related to its activities on GHG fluxes between the forest ecosystem and the atmosphere. The researcher will evolve in a dynamic research group (Plant Ecophysiology, PlantEco department, ca. 16 permanent researchers and professors) working on plant ecophysiology, soil functioning, remote sensing and process-based modelling, and is expected to play a role as a Scientific team leader. Research at PlantEco is mostly centered on the Fontainebleau-Barbeau forest station (www.barbeau.u-psud.fr), involved as Class 1 station in the European Research Infrastructure ICOS (www.icos-ri.eu/). The PlantEco team has a long history of collaboration with other research groups both in France and Europe.

The researcher will ideally have experience in the fields of GHG flux monitoring, with solid knowledge in plant biology and/or bioclimatology, but the profile is rather open and will be built ahead of the recruitment competition jointly by PlantEco and the candidate. He/She will integer the CNRS (Centre National pour la Recherche Scientifique) and will be recruited as French state officer provided success to the CNRS competitive examination. The position is open to both French and non-French speaking scientists with excellent Research records.
